SwiftSnag
A durable QR tag you fix to the defect itself, tied to a record that follows it from report to verified sign off.
The problem
The defects liability period is where a new development quietly loses money. Snags arrive by email and photograph, live in a spreadsheet, and get chased by whoever remembers. The record and the wall are in different places, so a contractor disputes which crack was reported and nobody can prove it. By close out, establishing what was actually fixed is an archaeology exercise.
What we built
- A weatherproof polypropylene tag, cable tied or stuck to the defect, carrying a unique code.
- Scan it on any phone to open that defect. No app, no login hunt, no typing a reference.
- Scan, record, assign, update, verify, close. The same six steps for everyone on site.
- Contractors assigned with owners and due dates, so accountability is the default rather than an afterthought.
- A complete verified history per defect, which is what turns handover from an argument into a signature.
- Separate views for developers, contractors and residents.
