Privacy

What this website collects, why, and how to get rid of it. It is shorter than most, because the site collects very little.

Who we are

GreenCode Limited, Suite 3/1, 28 Parliament Square, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. Registered in Gibraltar, company number 123905. For anything on this page, write to info@thegreen-code.com.

What this website does not do

It is worth stating first, because it removes most of what a privacy policy usually has to cover. This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no third party scripts. It sets no cookies. Nothing you do here is profiled, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

The one thing stored in your browser is whether you chose the light or dark theme. It never leaves your device and is not linked to you.

What we collect, and only when you send it

We collect information when you deliberately submit it. There are two forms.

The contact form takes your name, email address, the kind of enquiry, and your message.

The works request form takes your name, email address, telephone number, the address of the property, your description of the work, when you need it, when you are free for a visit, any access notes, and any photographs you attach.

The free damp check does not collect anything. You choose a location from a list and type in your own readings, we calculate a result, and nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Why, and on what basis

To answer you, and to quote for or carry out work you have asked about. In data protection terms that is either taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry we did not ask you to send.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you asked us a question.

Where it goes

Form submissions are delivered to us by email through Resend, and we hold them in our own inbox. Photographs you attach to a works request are stored by Vercel, who host this website.

Photograph links are long and unguessable, but they are not password protected. Please send photographs of the building work only, and nothing personal you would not want a link to reach.

These providers process the information on our instructions. The website is served from Europe and email is sent from a European region, but both companies are based in the United States, so some administration of the services happens there.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within twelve months. Where you become a client, we keep the correspondence and any survey or project records for six years after the work finishes, because professional advice about buildings can be questioned long after it is given and we may need to show what we actually said.

Photographs attached to a works request are deleted once the job is finished or the enquiry is closed.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can object to us holding it at all. Write to info@thegreen-code.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, which oversees data protection in Gibraltar.

Other people's websites

Our industry feed links to articles published elsewhere. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s website and this policy no longer applies. We do not pass them anything about you.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we will change this page and update the date at the top of it.
