Accessibility
What we have done, what we have actually tested, and what we know still falls short.

What we are aiming at
WCAG 2.2 level AA. We sell accessibility audits, so it would be a poor advertisement if our own site did not hold up, and this page is deliberately specific rather than a statement of good intentions.
What the site does
- Works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline on every link, button and form control, and a skip link to the main content.
- Uses real headings, landmarks and lists, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure.
- Meets AA contrast in both the light and dark themes. Body text and links in the footer measure 9.3:1 and column headings 5.1:1.
- Follows the theme your device asks for, and lets you override it.
- Reduces animation to almost nothing when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Reflows to a phone without sideways scrolling, tested at 390 pixels wide.
- Labels every form field, announces errors as they happen, and never signals a problem by colour alone.
- Sets the page language, and switches direction for Arabic.
What we have actually tested
Automated checks across every page template, keyboard testing by hand, contrast measured rather than estimated, and layout checked at 390 and 1440 pixels wide in both themes.
Where it falls short
Stating these is the point of the page. A statement that claims no problems is usually a statement nobody tested.
- Screen reader testing has been done with automated tools rather than by a daily screen reader user. Real testing finds things automation does not.
- Only the English pages are fully written. Spanish, French, Portuguese and Arabic currently fall back to English in places, which is confusing if you have chosen another language.
- The damp check relies on sliders. They can be operated by keyboard and their values are announced, but a person who finds fine control difficult may prefer to give us the readings directly, and we are happy to take them by email or telephone.
- Photographs you upload to a works request are shown back to you as thumbnails labelled with the file name, which is less useful than a description.
If something does not work
Please tell us. Write to info@thegreen-code.com or telephone +350 54018381, and say which page and what happened. We will reply within five working days and tell you when it will be fixed.
If you cannot use part of this site, we will give you the same information or take the same request by email or telephone instead. Nothing here is only available through the website.
